RADIOLOGIC SCIENCES COURSES

All Baccalaureate in Radiologic Sciences students are required to complete the radiologic sciences courses. These 27 credit hours of courses are designed to give the imaging or therapeutic specialist a core body of knowledge necessary to successfully compete in the radiologic and imaging sciences environment.

The Radiologic Sciences consists of the following:

RS   3133 Sectional Anatomy 3 hours
RS   3142 Advanced Imaging and Therapy I 2 hours
RS   4112 Radiologic Research Analysis 2 hours
RS   4852 Advanced Pathophysiology I 2 hours
CLS 4212 Interpretation of Lab Data 2 hours
BIO 2223/2221 Human A&P II / A&P II Lab 4 hours
RS 3122 Legal and Regulatory Environment of Radiology 2 hours
RS 3152 Advanced Imaging and Therapy II 2 hours
RS 3811 Radiologic Quality Management Administration 1 hour
RS 4862 Advanced Pathophysiology II 2 hours
RS 4343 Radiologic Administrative Concepts OR
RS 4333 Radiologic Education Concepts
3 hours
Total Imaging Practice Emphasis 25 hours

Select ONE of the following specialties:

Cardiovascular Interventional Technology (8 hrs)

RS 4423 Cardiovascular Interventional Procedures and Instrumentation 3 hours
RS 4442 Cardiac Physiology and Procedures 2 hours
RS 4451 Cardiovascular Interventional Clinical Education I 1 hour
RS 4462 Cardiovascular Interventional Clinical Education II 2 hours

Mammography (4 hrs) *

RS 4532 Mammography Procedures & Instrumentation 2 hours
RS 4541 Mammography Clinical Education I 1 hour
RS 4551 Mammography Clinical Education II 2 hours

*(Students who choose Mammography must select a junior-senior level elective of 3 hours.)

Computed Tomography (7 hrs)

RS 4622 Computed Tomography Instrumentation 2 hours
RS 4632 Computed Tomography Procedures 2 hours
RS 4641 Computed Tomography Clinical Education I 1 hour
RS 4652 Computed Tomography Clinical Education II 2 hours
