Program Information
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging major is designed to provide the student with the skills necessary to become a competent, entry-level MRI technologist. The program is currently pursuing accreditation by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. To complete the major in this area, students must complete the 47-55 hours of the program, depending on their admittance track. No minor is required. Upon completion of the baccalaureate degree students are prepared to sit for the ARRT examination in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Upon completion of the baccalaureate degree, students should be prepared for the didactic portions of a specialty examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in the areas of concentration. Access to specialty level examinations’ clinical competency requirements is achieved through the clinical education requirements, but total completion of these requirements (which may change from time to time) are the responsibility of the student. Students should check with the American Registry of the Radiologic Technologists to verify current requirements prior to applying for these examinations.
