Radiologic Technology
Application Process
Step 1: Determine that you are eligible for admission to ASU. (See the ASU Homepage,
Undergraduate Admissions.)
Step 2: Complete Radiologic Technology General Education Requirement courses as follows:
Only those students who have COMPLETED OR ARE ENROLLED in the
following courses by the April 1 deadline will be considered for admission:
*ZOOL 2003 Human Anatomy & Physiology I 3
*BIO 2201 Lab for Human Anatomy & Physiology I 1
ENG 1003 Composition I 3
ENG 1013 Composition II 3
*MATH 1023 College Algebra or Higher Level Math 3
HIST 2763 OR 2773 US History to/since 1876
OR POSC 2103 Intro to American Gov 3
PSY 2013 Intro to Psychology 3
CS 1043 Intro to Computers OR CIT 1503 Microcomputers Applications 3
(*a grade of “C” or better is required)
All pre-professional students should see the Health Professions Advisor when
planning their schedule. You may schedule an appointment with him by calling

Step 3: Determine which path you wish to pursue. Admittance to the Radiologic
Technology Program is accessed through two distinct methods. Students must
declare intent to pursue the Associate in Applied Science degree (AAS) or intent to
pursue the Bachelor of Sciences in Radiologic Sciences degree (BSRS). Students
who declare the AAS degree and later wish to pursue the BSRS must make a
separate application upon completion of the AAS degree. Contact the Health
Professions advisor or the Director of Radiologic Sciences Programs for further
information.
Step 4: Determine if you are eligible to apply for the professional program in radiologic
technology. No student will be considered for admission if:
1. Cumulative GPA is below 2.5
2. Developmental courses will not be completed prior to the beginning of the
Summer Session for which you are applying
If you do not meet the criteria for admission please do not apply at this time.
Talk with your advisor about how best to meet the criteria for admission at a
future date.
If you meet the criteria for admission, submit the application packet prior to the
deadline which is April 1 for admission to the First Summer Session.
Step 5: Download Application and Three Reference Forms.
Step 6: AS ONE PACKET, applicants are to submit:
(1) The completed Application form
(2) Transcripts of all college work completed
(3) Mid-term grades of any AAS-RT Gen. Ed. Requirement currently enrolled in.
(4) Three completed reference evaluations
(5) The essay

The American Registry of Radiology Technologists' Code of Ethics prohibits anyone "convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor" from taking the national boards. If you fit into either category, you should call the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists at 651-687-0048 to request a Pre-Application Review Form. Violations must be cleared by the Registry before an applicant can sit for the boards.
All admission documents become the property of the Radiologic Technology Program, College of Nursing and Health Professions. Following the meeting of the Admissions Committee all applicants will be notified in writing of the decision of the Admission Committee.
Applicants who are not admitted but wish to be considered at a later date must file a new application packet prior to April 1 of the year in which admission is sought. No records will be retained for applicants not admitted.
CRITERIA USED FOR ADMISSION
Applicants are selected by the Admissions Committee using the following criteria:
(1) Cumulative GPA
(2) AAS-RT General Education Requirement grades
(3) Reference evaluations
(4) Graded Essays
(5) Interview of top 60 applicants
Each of the first 3 categories listed is translated to a scaled system of points. Once scaled, students are ranked accordingly. The top 60 will be called for an interview appointment.
Note: Students completing AAS-RT General Education Requirement work on the ASU Jonesboro campus will receive 5 points toward the final score.
